How We Make our Frames and Domes

Wood Shadow Boxes

All of our wood frames are hand made, beautifully finished shadow boxes,

containing a variety of backgrounds, from mirrored backing, which allows you to admire the undersides of the real mounted Butterflies, to four light shades of

parchment paper, carefully selected to enhance the color of the butterfly in the frame.  We also custom make frames with the backing of your choice.

“Moment in time” Glass Domes

We have created  natural scenes, containing real butterflies and mixtures of dried plants, real wood and delicate silk flowers. Each contains one or several Butterflies. Many of these Butterflies are mounted with their wings at an angle, simulating real Butterfly movement. Each scene is encased in a glass dome to preserve its beauty indefinitely.
