Katja Palmer, has been interested in insects, particularly Lepidoptera, since the age of eight. She has a degree in biological science from the University of Tulsa Oklahoma with an emphasis on entomology. While in college, she worked for a butterfly supplier and she spent hours learning how to handle and spread the dried specimen’s for this retail business. Her in depth knowledge and love of insects helps bring our frames and domes to life.

John Loveland, has decades of construction experience, including wood working and mechanical repair. Mr. Loveland has owned and operated several small successful businesses, including Gunnite by Design, Waterfalls by design, and Buy the Yard Supply, a small grading and hauling company. He hand makes every frame in our wood shop, and we are constantly experimenting with different stains and types of wood.

Together we create each frame and dome carefully and as an individual work of art. No two domes are exactly the same and with so many frame colors and backings available, nothing we create is mass produced. All of our specimens are in top condition, all with real antennae and bodies, unlike some mass produced butterfly art.
